About Us Scholarship Program for Diaspora Children (SPDC)



The High Commission of India in Trinidad & Tobago invites children of Persons of Indian Origin / Overseas Citizens of India / Non-Resident Indians (PIO/OCI/NRI) to study Bachelors Degree in India. The scheme is called as Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children (SPDC)which is meant for children whose monthly family income is lower than USD 4000/-

Eligibility: Passport holders of T&T/India within the PIO/OCI/NRI Category in the age group of 17-21 (as on 31 Oct 2019), with a minimumpass marks of 60% in Grade XII (10+2), from systems recognised by Association of Indian Universities (AIU), are eligible to apply Online at http://spdcindia.gov.in Detailed information about the scheme can be obtained from the web-page: https://www.spdcindia.gov.in/login/guideline.php

The SPDC is applicable to the following Undergraduate Courses :

Engineering/Architecture/Technology ; Humanities, Liberal Arts; Commerce; Management; Computers; Journalism; Hotel Management; Agriculture / Animal Husbandry; Sciences; Law; Ayurveda; Nursing; Physiotherapy and Pharmacy.

SPDC entails scholarships and the selection process will be based on ‘Merit’. Financial assistance up to a maximum of USD 4000/p.a. will be provided to selected students to pursue studies in India. Furnishing false information would lead to cancellation of nomination. Only Online applications – complete in all respects - supported by transcripts/certificates will be entertained.
