भारतीय उच्चायोग, पोर्ट ऑफ स्पेन द्वारा हिंदी संवर्धन के लिए किए जा रहे प्रयास

भारतीय उच्‍चायोग, पोर्ट ऑफ स्‍पेन पिछले लगभग 33 वर्षों से यहां के हिंदी प्रेमियों के लिए नि:शुल्‍क हिंदी कक्षाएं संचालित करता आ रहा है। इस प्रकार उच्‍चायोग द्वारा अब तक हजारों की संख्‍या में स्‍थानीय लोगों को हिंदी सिखाने का महत्वपूर्ण कार्य किया गया है।

स्‍थानीय डायसपोरा संगठनों के अनुरोध पर सत्र 2021-22 से उच्‍चायोग द्वारा संस्‍कृत कक्षाएं भी प्रारंभ की गई हैं। इन सभी कक्षाओं का संचालन स्‍थानीय शिक्षकों के सहयोग से किया जा रहा है।

इसी प्रकार भारतीय उच्‍चायोग केंद्रीय हिंदी संस्‍थान, शिक्षा मंत्रालय की हिंदी छात्रवृत्ति योजना के अंतर्गत पिछले कई वर्षों से स्‍थानीय युवावर्ग को भारत में हिंदी सीखने के लिए नामांकित करता आ रहा है। इस योजना के अंतर्गत अब तक 40 स्‍थानीय छात्रों को हिन्दी सीखने हेतु एक वर्षीय हिंदी पाठ्यक्रम के लिए केंद्रीय हिंदी संस्‍थान, आगरा भेजा जा चुका है।

भारतीय उच्‍चायोग, पोर्ट ऑफ स्‍पेन द्वारा हर वर्ष हिंदी दिवस/पखवाड़ा और विश्‍व हिंदी दिवस का आयोजन किया जाता है और स्‍टॉफ सदस्‍यों के साथ साथ स्‍थानीय लोगों के लिए विभिन्‍न हिंदी प्रतियोगिताएं आयोजित की जाती हैं और विजेताओं को पुरस्‍कार दिए जाते हैं।

कोविड-19 महामारी आने के पहले उच्‍चायोग की सभी हिंदी कक्षाएं भौतिक रूप में आयोजित की जाती थीं, परन्‍तु महामारी आने पर जब पूरी दुनिया एक तरह से अपने घरों में कैद थी, तब उच्‍चायोग ने प्रायौगिक तौर पर कुछ हिंदी कक्षाएं ऑनलाइन मोड में शुरू कीं। इतना ही नहीं, सत्र 2020-21 की वार्षिक परीक्षा भी ऑनलाइन ही आयोजित की गई।

यह प्रयोग इतना सफल रहा कि उच्‍चायोग की हिंदी और संस्‍कृत कक्षाओं के लिए पिछले तीन सत्रों, यथा सत्र 2022-23 में 321, सत्र 2023-24 में 268 और 2024-25 में 299 स्‍थानीय छात्रों द्वारा पंजीकरण कराया गया।

वर्तमान सत्र (2024 -25 ) में उच्‍चायोग द्वारा ऑनलाइन कक्षाओं के साथ साथ महात्‍मा गांधी सांस्‍कृतिक सहयोग केंद्र (एमजीआईसीसी), माउंट होप, एल डोरैडो शिव मंदिर, श्रीराम अयोध्या मंदिर, कृष्ण मंदिर, स्वाहा हिन्दू कॉलेज, एन सी आई सी और रामजीत एंड बस्सो प्रसाद हिन्दू टेंपल में हिन्दी और संस्कृत की भौति‍क कक्षाएं चलाई जा रही हैं।

इस प्रकार वर्तमान सत्र में कुल मिलाकर ऑनलाइन और ऑफलाइन दोनों माध्‍यम से उच्‍चायोग के साथ सैकड़ों छात्र हिंदी और संस्‍कृत सीख रहे हैं।

Efforts being made by High Commission of India, Port of Spain for promotion of Hindi

The Indian High Commission, Port of Spain has been conducting free Hindi classes for Hindi enthusiasts in Trinidad for the last 33 years. In this way, the High Commission has done the important work of teaching Hindi to thousands of local people so far.

At the request of local diaspora organizations, Sanskrit classes have also been started by the High Commission from the session 2021-22. All these classes are being conducted with the help of local teachers.

Similarly, the Indian High Commission has been registering local youths to learn Hindi in India for the last several years under the Hindi Scholarship Scheme of the Central Hindi Institute, Ministry of Education. Under this scheme, so far 40 local students have been sent to the Central Hindi Institute, Agra for a one-year Hindi course to learn Hindi.

The High Commission of India, Port of Spain observes Hindi Diwas/Fortnight and Vishwa Hindi Diwas every year and organizes various Hindi competitions for staff members as well as local people and awards are given to the winners.

Before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, all Hindi classes of the High Commission were conducted in physical mode, but when the pandemic hit and the whole world was virtually confined to their homes, the High Commission started some Hindi classes in online mode on an experimental basis. Not only this, the annual examination of the session 2020-21 was also conducted online.

This experiment was so successful that for Hindi and Sanskrit classes of the High Commission in the last three sessions, viz., 321 local students registered in the session 2022-23, 268 in session 2023-24 and 299 in session 2024-25.

In the current session (2024-25), along with online classes by the High Commission, physical classes of Hindi and Sanskrit are being conducted at Mahatma Gandhi Centre for Cultural Cooperation (MGICC), Mount Hope, El Dorado Shiva Temple, Shriram Ayodhya Temple, Krishna Temple, Swaha Hindu College, NCIC and Ramjit & Basso Prasad Hindu Temple.

Thus, in the current session, hundreds of students are learning Hindi and Sanskrit with the High Commission through both online and offline mediums.
