GUIDELINES FOR KNOW INDIA PROGRAMME test

Government of India will organize the following six Know India Programmes from September 2017 to February 2018:

2. Important aspects and content of these KIPs are:

i) The programme is open to youth of Indian origin (excluding non-resident Indians) in the age group of 18-30 years (as on the first day of the month in which the programme is expected to commence.

ii) Minimum qualification required for applying is graduate (Bachelors Degree) or studying for graduation.

iii) Understanding of India’s political system, economy, society and developments in various sectors etc.

iv) Visit to places of historical, cultural and religious importance.

v) Familiarisation with art, music and culture of India.

vi) Visit to industrial sites.

vii) Visit to a village.

viii) Interaction with non-profit organizations.

ix) Meetings with senior leadership/officials in India.

x) Visit to a select state in India for 10 days.

3. Applicant has to submit applications online for the first four KIPs to be held in 2017 i.e. 41st, 42nd, 43rd & 44th . Last date of filing the application is July 21, 2017.

4. Participants are accorded local hospitality e.g. boarding/lodging and internal travel inside India and Air tickets from country of residence to India and back. Selected participants would be required to pay 10% of total Air fare.

5. Participants have to provide followings before issuance of Gratis Visa to them:

i) a medical fitness certificate before recommending them for the programme.

ii) Medical insurance before the visa to be granted to them.

6. The participants would also not be permitted to leave the Programme mid-way. All are expected to participate in the various programme organized for them enthusiastically & are not expected to stay back in their hotel room, except for medical reason as advised by the doctor.

7. The organizers will take care of the participants for the duration of the program only. If the participants wish to come early or stay late they will have to make their own arrangements.

8. Participants should check about the weather condition of India before travel. Stay in a rural area is the part of the programme where air-conditioned accommodation is often not available.
