To celebrate the 10th Ayurveda Day, the High Commission of India, in collaboration with the Maharshi Institute of Science & Technology, organized a Conference on ‘Ayurveda and Traditional Medicine in the Caribbean’ at Hotel Radisson in Port of Spain today with participation of eminent health experts, Ayurveda scholars and enthusiasts from the region and beyond. On this occasion, Hon’ble Lackram Bodoe, Minister of Health, Senator the Hon’ble Prakash Persad, Minister of Tertiary Education & Skills Training, High Commissioner of India Dr Pradeep Rajpurohit and Swami Bramhaswooranand Ji offered their views highlighting the importance of alternative medicines, especially Ayurveda, for the holistic health. Hon’ble Rishad Sricharan, Minister in the Ministry of Health and Dr Natalie Chetan Maharaj, Minister in the Ministry of People, Social Devlopment and Family Services also attended the Conference. Dr Carl Camelia, Vice Rector of UMLAC University, Curacao made a detailed presentation on Integrative Medicine at UMLAC at the inaugural session.
