The High Commission of India and Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Cultural Cooperation paid tributes to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Constitution of India and one of the most eminent nation builders, on his 133rd Birth Anniversary. His ideals of social justice and equality are an eternal source of inspiration for building a fairer and inclusive society.
India’s cultural extravaganza continues in Trinidad and Tobago with scintillating performance by the Folk Dance Troupe from India in the Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Cultural Cooperation, Mt. Hope today. The diplomatic community, Indian diaspora and all friends celebrated the festival of colours, Holi with full joy and traditional way of throwing colours on each other. The occasion was graced by Dr. Pradeep Rajpurohit, High Commissioner of India to T&T, His Holiness Pt. Rampersad Parasram, Dharmacharya, the Honourable Justice Frank Seepersad, Mr. Sieunarine Coosal, CEO of Coosal Group of Companies and several other distinguished guests.
Yet another magical performance by the Bhojpuri Folk Dance Group at Southern Academy of Performing Arts ( SAPA), San Fernando in South Trinidad yesterday on April 5th, 2024. The event was graced by H.E. Dr. Pradeep Singh Rajpurohit, High Commissioner of India, T&T, Mr. Videsh Maharaj Permanent Secretary at The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Art . A large number of the Indo-Trinidadian community of the south Trinidad and Indian diaspora enjoyed the show.
The High Commission of India, T&T and Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts, T&T in Collaboration with Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha hosted an Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR)-sponsored Bhojpuri Folk Dance Group Led by Shri Bhola Pandey. The group performed at the Munroe Road Shiv Mandir (SDMS Branch No. 111) on April 4, 2024 on the occasion of Phagwa. This event was graced by H.E. Dr. Pradeep Singh Rajpurohit, High Commissioner of India, T&T, Parishad Rishi Maharaj- Secretary of the Pandits’, Mr. Vijay Maharaj - Secretary General, SDMS, Mr. Krishna Rambally- President General of SDMS and Pundit Navin Omadath Maharaj. A large number of the Indo-Trinidadian community and Indian diaspora enjoyed the show.
It was an honour to have Hon'ble Prime Minister of Grenada H. E. Dickon Mitchel at the Cultural Performance organized by the High Commission at the Red Cross Society Hall in St George on April 2, 2024 on the occasion of Indian Council for Cultural Relations' Foundation Day.
A mesmerizing cultural performance by a Bhojpuri folk dance troupe sponsored by Indian Council of Cultural Relations in Grenada (Spice Basket) on April 1, 2024 to celebrate Phagwa. The first such troupe to Grenada since 2013. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade & Export Development H.E. Mr. Joseph Andall and Speaker of the House of Parliament of Grenada H.E. Mr Leo L Cato graced the occasion. A large number of Indo-Grenadian community and Indian diaspora enjoyed the show.
The High Commission organized ‘Chalo India - Incredible India’ to promote tourism with participation of tour operators, representatives of insurance firms, hospital chains and the representatives of Government of Trinidad & Tobago. Several meaningful ideas emerged out of the brainstorming session.
The High Commissioner Dr. Pradeep Rajpurohit made a presentation on ‘Doing Business with India’ at the Couva / Point Lisas Chamber of Commerce to explore opportunities of direct trade in specific sectors. Mr. Rudranath Indarsingh, MP for Couva South, Mr. Mukesh Ramsingh, President of the Chamber and Mr. Ryan Rampersad, Chairman, Couva/Tabaquite/Talparo Corporation also elaborated on the prospects of bilateral cooperation at the event.

High Commissioner Dr. Pradeep Rajpurohit met Mr. Neil Parsanlal, Chairman, National Library and Information System Authority (NALIS) today. They discussed possible exchanges between the national libraries of India and Trinidad & Tobago.

High Commissioner Dr. Pradeep Rajpurohit delivered the Letter of Condolences from Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on the sad demise of Mr. Basdeo Panday, the 5th Prime Minister of Trinidad & Tobago and the first of Indian descent, to his family on March 12, 2024 at their residence in San Fernando (Trinidad).
