ATTENTION PIO CARD HOLDERS

The High Commission of India wishes to reiterate that all the PIO (Person of Indian origin) card holders are required to convert their PIO cards into OCI (Overseas Citizens of India) cards at the earliest. Ministry has extended the acceptance of PIO cards as valid travel document till 31 December 2024.

All members of Indian Diaspora, still holding PIO cards, are requested to convert their PIO cards to OCI cards at the earliest so as to avoid any complications during their travel to India. Those not having valid OCI card would be required to apply for visa at their nearest Indian Embassy/High Commission for travel to India.

The community is further advised that conversion of PIO cards to OCI cards need not require any extra scrutiny or additional documents except for the photocopies of their current passport and existing PIO card. 

The applicable fee for conversion is TT$ 696.00.
